How to ride the Montmartre Funicular

The Montmarte Funicular is a cable car that travels from the base of the Montmartre butte to the summit, where you will find the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur and the Place du Tertre. The Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) operates the Funicular seven days a week from 6 a.m. until midnight.

Riding the Montmartre Funicular:

• If you have a Ticket T+ (one per direction), Mobilis Pass (Zones 1-2) or Paris Visite Pass (Zones 1-3), insert it into the turnstile and retrieve it from the top of the machine when it pops up. Then walk through the turnstile.

• If you have a Navigo Découverte Pass (Zones 1-2), wave your pass over the purple card reader at the turnstile. When you hear the chime sound and see a green arrow, you will know your pass has been scanned. The turnstile unlocks and you can walk through.
